Lynn is especially attuned to the needs and concerns of very small businesses. Many of her clients are proprietors or owners
of small corporations around the east central Indiana area. Several of them are start-ups, or businesses in early phases of
development, whose owners may have minimal business education and/or experience. Training of client personnel is frequently
a part of the service she provides. Soon, the client firm is less dependent upon Lynn to guide monthly procedures, and ready
to tackle tax and business planning.
Despite the emphasis on very small businesses, Lynn and her staff are not strangers to the needs of firms with over 200
employees. Firms which have grown to this size often find they require professional financial management, yet the cost of
hiring a full-time financial professional is prohibitive. Lynn and her staff can fill this gap, visiting the business
as often as necessary to oversee and guide the financial function. The arrangements are quite flexible, depending upon client
needs. Visits may be once a week, once a month, or simply as the need arises. Often clients find that under Lynn's guidance
much of the accounting function can be performed by their own clerical personnel. Generally, a monthly or quarterly
management meeting is part of the service she provides. Lynn reviews with owners and/or managers financial statements she
has compiled, drawing attention to strengths and weaknesses revealed in the statements.
System design is another service frequently provided. The system may be as simple as a written procedure for intelligent
handling of accounts payable or cash, or it may be as complex as the design and implementation of a job cost system for a
manufacturing firm. Whatever level of trainnig is required to make the system work is provided.
